December 1965 through December 2005
St. Jude Mission celebrated her 40th anniversary in 2005. The major celebration was held October 29 with an evening that began in the original church, now the Parish Hall. It was a beautiful service celebrated by Fr. Wayne and Fr. Bobby.
At the conclusion of the service, the parishioners, led by the Knights of Columbus, processed to the “new” church and as they entered they heard the chanting of the Litany of Saints. It was a very stirring moment. Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Wayne and Fr. Bobby. Many of the original members of the parish were present.
Following the Mass, there was a dinner dance held at the Elks Lodge that was well attended and enjoyed by all. Fr. Wayne gave a toast to the next 40 years.
On Christmas Eve, Fr. Wayne celebrated the 40th anniversary Mass. Photos of that Mass are included in this gallery and we hope that you enjoy them.
Below we have our gallery of photos that include newspaper clippings, notes and memorabilia. Though efforts were made to present all material chronologically, even within each gallery; some material may be slightly misplaced. Dates are only provided where there was a measure of confidence in their accuracy.
We hope your travels through memory lane bring you happiness and that you will join us in our travels through the next 40 years. God Bless you all!
